BESPOKE

Bespoke commissions are garments developed specifically for an individual client, from the initial design through to the final garment. Each commission begins with a private consultation to establish the design, silhouette, fabric and requirements of the piece. The garment is then developed through original pattern cutting, toile development and in-person fittings at the London atelier.

THE PROCESS

PRIVATE CONSULTATION

The commission begins with a private consultation to discuss the garment, its intended use, silhouette, materials and design details.

PATTERN DEVELOPMENT

An original pattern is developed specifically for the client and the agreed design. Pattern cutting considers the client’s measurements, proportions and the intended structure and movement of the garment.

TOILE

A toile is created in cotton as a prototype of the final garment. This allows the pattern, proportions and construction to be assessed before the final fabric is cut.

FITTING

The toile is fitted in person at the London atelier. Adjustments are made to the pattern where required, with particular attention to proportion, movement and fit.

PATTERN REFINEMENT

Following the fitting, the pattern is refined to incorporate the agreed adjustments and establish the final construction of the garment.

FINAL GARMENT

The final garment is produced through the London atelier in the selected fabric and completed according to the agreed design.

MATERIALS

Bespoke commissions can be developed in a range of carefully selected fabrics, including silk, velvet and other fine textiles. Fabric and material selection forms part of the design process and is considered in relation to the intended silhouette and construction of the garment.
