Made-to-measure allows an existing Juliana Ponce de León design to be adapted specifically to the client’s measurements and proportions. The design, silhouette and established details of the collection remain intact. The pattern is adjusted to the individual, with the garment developed through measurements, pattern adaptation, toile development and fitting.

THE PROCESS

SELECT FROM THE READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION

The client selects a garment from the Juliana Ponce de León ready-to-wear collection.

MEASUREMENTS

The client provides their measurements. These are used to assess the appropriate starting size and identify the adjustments required for their proportions.

PATTERN ADAPTATION

The existing JPL pattern is adapted to the client’s measurements and proportions. This allows the selected design to retain its intended silhouette while being developed for the individual wearer.

TOILE

A toile is created in cotton as a prototype of the garment. This provides the basis for assessing the fit before the final fabric is cut.

FITTING

The toile is fitted in person at the London atelier. Adjustments are made where required to refine the fit and proportions while maintaining the original design.
